Abstract
349,940. Mixing leaf tobacco &c. UNITED CIGARETTE MACHINE CO., AKT.-GES., 5, Junghansstrasse, Dresden, Germany. March 4, 1930, No. 7067. Convention date, April 25, 1929. [Class 86.] Apparatus for mixing leaf tobacco &c. comprises a feeding hopper beneath which is a rotating cone or disc round the periphery of which readily removable containers are arranged. As shown in Fig. 3 the edge of the cone 10 may be of spiral form so as to distribute the tobacco over the width of the containers 5 into which it is deflected by fixed, wedge-shaped members 9. In another form the tobacco falls on to a cone 16, Fig. 5, and is distributed by a rotating device 20, the distribution being assisted by an air blast directed from the centre of the disc by a fan 17.
