Abstract
771,643. Mixing-machines. MULLER, H. U. 'July 22, 1955 [July 30, 1954], No. 21234/55. Class 86 Leak-like or fibrous materials, such as tobacco, are mixed by applying them in thin layers on discs 2...6 and removing the whole of the material uniformly and simultaneously from the discs 2...6 so that it falls freely and commingles in flow. The discsare mounted on a shaft 1 which is rotated by an electric motor 18 through gearing 21, 23. Each disc is charged with fibrous material from a delivery device 30 by operation of an appropriate flap 24.. .28 which directs the material to. a corresponding conveyer 9...13. The materials are cleared from the discs by fixing bands B which direct the materials to the edges of the discs as the latter revolve. Preferably a vibrating, guide-like frame is arranged in the path of the freely falling material. Fig. 7 shows a complete plant comprising six such mixing machines which are arranged to operate in sequence.
