Abstract

265,147. Henkel et Cie, Ges. Jan. 27, 1926, [Convention date]. Diglycerine.-In a process for obtaining diglycerine containing little polyglycerines by heating glycerine with the addition of polymerization accelerators, water glass, either solid or dissolved or as hydrated or crystallized sodium or potassium silicate, is used as accelerator. Neutral gases such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen or hydrogen may be passed through or over the mass and in addition tantalum, thorium or magnesium oxide or mixtures of these oxides may be added. Examples are given in which dynamite glycerine is heated with hydrated water glass and with crystallized sodium metasilicate. Specification 265,146 is referred to.
