Reflectors.- Reflecting devices for use as rear reflectors for cycles &c. are constructed of a solid glass element a having a convex front refracting surface b and a concave rear reflecting surfa.ce c, both surfaces having a common centre of curvature, the rear surface c being situated at or near the focus of the front surface b. This construction enables incident light received over a large range of angles of incidence to be returned towards its source. The glass element a is preferably of frusto-conical form having the rear surface of larger diameter than the front surface, and provided with a reflecting surface d in direct contrast with the rear surface of the glass element. These reflectors may also be used in road signs and advertising devices.
