Abstract
263,098. Remondy, L. E. Dec. 17, 1925, [Convention date]. Projectile fuzes. directaction fuze comprises a directimpact member E and a firing pin C so arranged that the member E when arrested by the target cannot by itself fire the fuze but serves to arrest or check the speed of the firing pin C, which is then overtaken by the percussion cap B secured to the fuze bodv A. The directimpact member E may be held forward by a spring or by a shear wire or disc E<1> and may be provided with a safety collar G, which is removed by hand or automatically when the projectile is discharged or dropped. The firing pin C may be held to the fuze body by a shear wire C<1> or may be held in the member E by a spring. The positions of the percussion cap and firing pin may be interchanged.
