262,151. Cooper, J. Nov. 30, 1925, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Spring wheels.-A metal shield 14, carrying a rubber tread 17, is fitted over a pneumatic cushion 22, preferably constituted by an air tube only, one side 15 of the shield extending to the wheel rim the other side having a removable flange ring 16. To prevent creeping, the inner periphery of the shield may be formed with corrugations, and a corrugated band may be fitted in the rim bed. To exclude grit &c., flexible covers 29 are secured at their outer edges to the parts 15, 16, and at their inner edges are clamped between angle rings 30, 31 detachably bolted together. The rings 30, 31 are slotted to embrace the wheel spokes, and a packing strip is fitted between their overlapping edges. Antifriction devices are fitted between the edges of the shield and the wheel. The air tube is embraced by two series of straps 24, 25 connected alternately to the shield and the wheel rim.
