Abstract

259,091. Denecke, W. Feb. 2, 1926. Alloys. - Copper-silicon alloys contain about 5-10 per cent of silicon and 1.5-12 per cent of one or more of the metals iron, nickel, and cobalt; up to a total of 5 per cent of one or more of the metals chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, titanium, and vanadium, and up to 1 per cent of arsenic may also be present, small amounts of tin, zinc, and lead being also permissible. The copper may be used in pure or commercial form or as copper-nickel or silicon copper; and the silicon may be used alloyed with copper, iron, nickel or cobalt, or with iron and nickel, or iron and cobalt. Arsenic may be used as ferro-arsenic.
