Abstract
257,791. Evans, F. E. Nov. 20, 1925. Actuating by compressed air; single-acting piston pumps ; carriages ; suction reservoirs. - Grease is pumped from a tank 20 by a pump 43 actuated by a compressed-air motor 32 supplied from a tank 6 and controlled by hand-actuated valves. The whole may be mounted on a wheeled frame 1. The cylinder of the motor is pivoted at 35 and the pistons of the pump and motor are connected to the ends of a lever 52 which pivots on a rod 50 pivoted at 51 to the frame. Pipes 60, 61 from the air reservoir and motor are connected to a block 70, Figs. 3 and 4, having passages controlled by spring-pressed valves 75, 78 actuated by push-buttons 76. The pipes 60, 61 are connected through the passage 79 by opening the valve 78. The valve 75 is then opened to connect the motor to atmosphere through the port 80 and the piston of the motor is returned by the spring 57. The discharge pipe 62 of the grease-pump is connected by a passage 81 in the block to a pipe 82 conveying the grease to the point of delivery.
