Abstract

256,227. Withycombe, R. M. July 29, 1925, [Convention date]. Cases and special materials for cameras.- Camera cases are rendered waterproof with rubber by applying a rubber solution or paint directly to the surface to be coated, and subjecting the coated surface at atmospheric pressure to vulcanizing temperature in a dry atmosphere such as that of an electric furnace. The temperatures used may vary between 220‹ F. and 500‹ F. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the application of a covering by placing sheets of vulcanizable rubber in contact with the surface, or by placing sheets of vulcanized rubber, preferably wormed, in contact with the surface, after coating the latter with a rubber paint or vulcanizing-solution, and then effecting the heat treatment, optionally in a dry atmosphere, and at temperatures between 100 and 500‹ F. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 8757/13, [Class 70, India-rubber &c.].
