Abstract
254,694. Modo, M. July 6, 1925, [Convention date]. Wind-screens.-Hinged vehicle and other windows and doors are securely closed against rattling and weather by means of a hinged channel-member d into which the edge of the window enters by striking the longer member of the channel and fits closely without exerting any pressure in the plane of the sash. The channel is retained in an oblique position ready to engage the window by a spring f and any bolting &c. means may be used to retain the window closed, or the sash may be connected to the door by pin-and-slot so as to open only with the doors. If the window &c. is to be opened outwardly and inwardly the channel bars must be rotatable through a sufficient angle to free the sash for inward movement. In this modification the channel is retained in its adjusted positions by a spring or pin. The gap between the pillar a and channel when the window is closed is covered by an arcuate extension i of the angle-bar to which the channel is hinged.
