Abstract

167,918. Theobalds, R. O. P. June 14, 1920. Fastenings for hinged doors and windows; turn-bolt door and window fastenings. - A fastening for doors, gates, &c. is formed from a rod a bent to U-shape and pivoted by the bottom of the U to the gate or sidepost, the ends b of the fastening being indined outwardly, as shown. The fastening is. hand-operated for opening and closing, the inclined ends b serving to bring the gate into the closed position. The movement of the fastening may be limited in both directions by bending the rod as at p, q, Fig. 1, or by forming on thefastening a suitably shaped portion, which, in some cases, is adapted to engage with stops on the side of the gate or to abut against the rear of the gate upright to which the fastening is attached.
