Abstract

220,656. Petersson, C. H. Aug. 18, 1924. Multiple-bolt fastenings; fastenings for hinged doors.-A pivoted bolt moving in a plane at rightangles to the door is operated by a a link pivoted at 'one end to a boltactuating member and at the other to an intermediate member pivoted to the bolt, and is constructed so that the pivots of the link are at right-angles to the pivots of the bolt and intermediate member. The actuating member may also move sliding bolts, to one of which the link may be pivoted. The Figures show the latter arrangement. The bolt-actuating member 17 moves vertical bolts 13, to the lower one of which one end of the link 3 is pivoted at 10. The other end of the link is pivoted at 9 to a member 2 pivoted at 7 inside a recess 18 in the bolt 1 which is pivoted at 5 to the door. The pivots 9 and 10 are at right-angles to the pivots 5 and 7. Movement of the actuating member 17 moves the bolts 13, and consequently the bolt 1, into locking or unlocking position. When only the bolt 1 is employed, the link 3 is pivoted directly to the member 17.
