Abstract
254,152. Knight, T., and Rushbrooke (Smithfield), Ltd., G. Sept. 26, 1925. Indicating-mechanism; pendulum-weight apparatus.-Relates to a weighing machine of the kind wherein the spindle of the indicator is mounted in bearings and the indicator is actuated by flexible bands oppositely wound upon drums on the spindle and connected to the pendulous members of a duplex weight-resistant mechanism. According to the invention the flexible bodies are bifurcated and have end extensions, connected to the drum, of such width and so disposed as to pass between the limbs of the flexible bodies whereby the drums may perform a complete (or more than a complete) rotation without the bodies coiling upon themselves. The load on the scale pan draws down a rod b coupled by a lever c<1>, and links d, d<1>, to a pair of pendulous members e<2> provided with arms e, e<1>, and the extensions are secured to a drum f carrying dials g, g<1> and mounted on friction wheels h. When the tapes wind upon the drum the extensions y may pass between the limbs of the bifurcations and allow the drum to make a complete revolution without the tapes coiling upon themselves.
