Abstract

254,020. Muller, P. March 27, 1925. Air-pressure sprayers. -Liquids containing solids in solution or suspension, such as fruit juice, milk, blood, yeast &c. are sprayed by introducing the liquid into a globular or oblate chamber 3 having a liquid inlet 4 and also an outlet or outlets 6 at its circumference and introducing a stream of air into the chamber under pressure so that it adopts a whirling motion in the charnber, sweeping past the inlet and outlet or outlets. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the air is admitted at two opposite inlets fed with compressed air through the ducts 2, 2a, the outlet being provided with a regulable spring-pressed non-return valve 8. In the form shown in Fig. 3 the air is admitted tangentially into the spheroidal chamber 3 sweeping past the inlet 4 and outlets 6.
