Abstract
668,748. Spray-producers &c. INDUSTRIEWERKE KARLSRUHE AKT.-GES. Nov. 24, 1949 [Nov. 26, 1948], No. 30150/49. Class 69 (iii). A sprayer nozzle for the drying of liquids to produce powders, includes an annular chamber 3 fed tangentially with liquid to be dried from a pipe 7, the liquid is thereby whirled and is then atomised from an outlet 15 by pressure air fed to a conduit 9 and forced through an outlet 6. A portion of the air passes through passages 10, 11 to an annular chamber 12 for cooling purposes to prevent the precipitation of powder at the outlet 15, and is emitted through an annular outlet 13. Alternatively, the chamber 12 is fed through a separate conduit with cooling medium.
