Abstract
561,521. De-aerating liquids. BAKER, T. H. Oct. 12, 1942, No. 14273. [Class 1 (i)] A device for deaerating liquids comprises a volute-shaped inlet member A which discharges the liquid with a rotary motion into a chamber formed by two conical members C, G, whence it is discharged, still retaining its rotary motion, through a tangential outlet H. The rotary motion is assisted by helical fins E surrounding a funnel D within the member C. Centrifugal force drives the liquid to the periphery of the conical member, and air collects at the centre and is withdrawn by funnel D and outlet F.
