Rotary machines; set-off, preventing.-A multicolour rotary intaglio-printing machine is constructed with means for severing a web into sheets before passing to the first impression cylinder h, and sheet-transfer cylinders q are arranged between the impression cylinders h, h', h<2> and are preferably constructed so as to dry the sheets by carrying them around each transfer cylinder for more than one revolution before delivering them to the impression cylinder. As shown, the impression cylinders h are twice the diameter of the printing-cylinders i, and the sheets to be printed occupy half the circumference of the cylinders h. The cylinders q are fitted with an odd number of grippers l, m, n, o, p which each take and deliver a sheet one in every two revolutions of the cylinder q. After being printed in several colours on one side, the sheets can be delivered by cylinders q<2>, q<3> or may pass to a second set of cylinders for perfecting in multicolour on the reversed side.
