Abstract

252,735. Frandsen, A. M. K. May 28, 1925, [Convention date]. Four- and six- or morestroke-cycle engines; cylinders, cooling.-The water jacket j serves as a steam generator; compressed air is injected into the jacket through the perforated pipe p, the mixed heated air and steam being used in the power chamber alternately with an internal-combustion cycle. The exhaust pipe h also passes through the water. The mixed steam- and-air cycle may alternate with the usual two- or fourstroke internal combustion cycle; or the complete cycle may consist in a four-stroke internal combustioncycle, followed by drawing in air on the fifth stroke, this air being compressed on the sixth stroke, mixed steam and air being admitted to and expanded with this air on the seventh stroke and exhausted on the eighth stroke.
