Abstract

251,984. Bellini, E. May 8, 1925, [Convention date]. Directive signalling; thermionic amplifiers and detectors. - In order to maintain symmetry in a loop aerial C tuned by a condenser B and earthed at its mid-point, the capacity and resistance of the gridfilament circuit of the receiving - valve H are balanced by the equal capacity and resistance of an auxiliary valve E, connected to the opposite side of the tuning-condenser. The auxiliary valve E may be idle or may have its output coil connected in series or in parallel with the output coil of the receiving-valve H. The auxiliary valve may be used for reacting by means of a coil D on a coil A connected across the tuning-condenser B. The coil A may be split and its two halves connected in the loop circuit on opposite sides of the condenser B. The reaction coil D mav be arranged to induce oscillations in the aerial for heterodyne reception. The valve filaments are earthed, and the mid-point of the loop is earthed through a resistance F. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that a condenser and a resistance may replace the auxiliary valve. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Specification 217,585 is referred to.
