Abstract

251,256. Wang, A. April 23, 1925, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Wheels with collapsable ports; expansible wheels.-A collapsable wheel for facilitating the manipulation of a tyre, or a tyre-carrying rim, comprises a rim 29 formed in lapped segments, a two-part hub 13, 14, and pivoted spokes 11. The wheel is contracted for manipulation of the tyre &c. by slacking back the nut 19 when the pressure of the tyre causes the separation of the hub parts 13, 14 which are formed with clutch teeth 35, as shown in Fig. 4. Each rim segment is formed with a tongue 26 end guides 27, and ball bearings may be fitted between the sliding ends of the rim.
