Self-levelling apparatus.-Ships are pro. vided with self-levelling compartments g of substantially spherical or hemispherical section and including parts of several superposed decks a. The chamber is supported on gimbal bearings d, c the latter supporting a circular gangway b, which facilitates access to the compartments. The compartments may be partly supported by water contained in circular tanks h. Rolling. of the ship is damped by pivoted vanes k secured to the sides and connected by linkwork with the compartments g so that the vanes are suitably tilted as the vessel rolls.
