Pistons; packing.-In packing for pistons and pump buckets of the type described in Specification 22708/09, in which rubber, vulcanite, leather or other rings b are expanded by fluid admitted behind them through perforations d, leakage due to wear is prevented by forming heads e on the packing rings, which engage recesses in the sides of the packing-ring grooves. Alternatively, the packing rings and packing-ring grooves are made of dove-tail cross-section.
