Abstract
249,314. Brooke, A. March 12, 1925. Trimmings.-In a beading for upholstery of the kind having a core 4, preferably of leather or other pliant material, and a cover 3 the edges 5 of the cover are held together by a flexible metallic strip fastening 1, the prongs 2 of which enter the core. The strip 1 might be placed between the core and the cover and have its prongs clinched outside the cover. In a modification, the prongs are punched out from the strip. Other modified strip fasteners have the forms shown in Figs. 7 and 8. Tacks 12, Fig. 12, for fixing the beading in position are carried by the core, having a portion 14 which is driven into the core and a collar 15 which abuts against the lower face of the core. In a modification, the part 14 is screw-threaded. In other modifications, the part 14 projects beyond the top face of the core and is clinched over or riveted, or has the form of a paper-fastener. In another modification, Fig. 10, the nail is held to the core by a metal holder 20 which has prongs 23 to embrace the core.
