Abstract

779,867. Mouldings. BRIGHT, T. J. R. Nov. 3 1953 [Nov. 12, 1952], No. 8014/56. Divided out of 779,866. Class 20(4) . A beading or moulding comprises a channel shape clip 1 which is capable of universal bending movement and has along one edge an inturned lip 2 for making positive engagement with lateral projections 7 on a flange 6 of a vehicle body, or with a series of spaced spring tags frictionally mounted on the flange 6, the clip 1 carrying a closely fitting ornamental covering 3 which hides the clip 1 from view when mounted on the flange 6. The clip 1 which may be of metal or plastic material is slotted at 8 from opposite edges alternately to allow the clip 1 to be bent around curves of small radius. The covering 3 which may be a woven fabric with or without a pile surface, or of rubber or plastic material is adhesively secured to the clip 1, a layer of thin open mesh material 4 such as scrim being interposed if necessary. One edge of the covering 3 is inturned beneath lip 2 and the opposite edge is turned inwardly and upwardly. The Provisional Specification also includes the subject-matter of Specification 779,868.
