Abstract

708,245. Draught excluders &c. BRIGHT, T. J. R. July 18, 1951 [April 18, 1950], No. 9526/50. Class 20 (3) A draught excluding &c. strip including a channel shaped metal clip 5 having at one edge an inwardly directed lip 9 for making positive interlocking connection with a supporting flange 11, or parts associated therewith and carrying an effective portion 1 of soft but resilient material such as rubber has a rubber &c. component which encloses the clip and is secured thereon by sewing 6, by tangs pressed, out of the clip, or by adhesive and by forming one edge of the rubber &c. component with an upstanding hook-shaped part 7 which hooks over the adjacent edge of the clip, the opposite edge of the rubber &c. 'component being formed as an inwardly directed lip 4 which normally projects beyond the edge of the lip on the clip and engages the supporting flange when the strip is in position to prevent the entry of moisture into the clip &c. The lip 9 may override a projection 10 on the flange 11, as shown, or engage a series of spring clips mounted on the flange. The clip is preferably slotted transversely as at 13 to aid bending. The strip may be coated with flock &c., covered with fabric &c., or patterned, and is particularly applicable to vehicle windows. Specifications 655,268 and 655,299 are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 649,137.
