Abstract

462,210. Vehicle bodies. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Feb. 29, 1936, No. 6125. Convention date, March 1, 1935. [Class 108 (i)] The interior trimming material or lining in vehicle bodies is secured in position by means of a springy steel strip having a serrated edge. As shown in Figs. 2 and 4, the material is secured in place to the body rail 4 above one of the doors 1. A strip 6 is secured to the rail 4 by nails 8 and is provided with a serrated edge 7, Fig. 5, bent inwardly and upwardly. The material passes over the outside of the strip 6 and its edge is pressed upwardly by a tool 13 between the strip 6 and the rail 4 until it is engaged by the serrated edge upon which the tool 13 is withdrawn. A draught excluder 9 is provided as shown.
