Abstract

248,648. Emerson, A. Sept. 3, 1925. Vacuum tubes. - A thermionic valve having a grid b and an anode a open at both ends, but entirely surrounding the filament g, has the filament divided into a number of lengths so disposed that the electronic emission is distributed evenly over the grid and anode surfaces. The grid b and anode a have flattened sides, the grid b being formed by winding wire around vertical supporting members, and the filament g being supported by horizontal conducting members h as shown. In a modification the filament comprises a single wire arranged in a zig-zag manner and supported by hooks. Specification 249,403 is referred to.
