D i s c apparatus; guides and rests.-A machine for grinding work on one surface consists of a shaft b having a chamber a from which the work is fed through an opening to a grinding-disc c rotating about the shaft. The work is pressed, during grinding, against the disc and is prevented from movement by an adjustable stop d; upon completion of the grinding, the stop is turned in the direction of rotation of the disc c, so that the work moves along the stop off the disc, a guide also being provided to cause the work to leave the machine at any desired position. Concentric discs arranged for rough and fine grinding may be employed, so that the various stages of grinding are performed in one machine.
