Abstract
246,659. British Vacuum Cleaner & Engineering Go., Ltd., and Frame, W. J. Jan. 21, 1925. Fan apparatus.-Exhausting apparatus consists of a fan d and an electric motor c on a common shaft, the partition b between the motor and the fan having holes a. The back of the impeller disc has auxiliary blades e or grooves which cause a flow of cooling air through the motor and partially balance the end thrust of the fan. Perforations g in the impeller disc assist in obtaining balance. In some cases the suction created at the back of the impeller disc is sufficient to produce the flow of cooling air without the auxiliary blades or grooves.
