Abstract
279,065. Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon. Oct. 18, 1926, [Convention date]. Pumping-machines, multi-stage.-An electric motor driving a multi-stage pump is constructed between two pressure stages and the motor is cooled by allowing part of the medium pumped to flow through the motor from the higher to the lower pressure stage. In the centrifugal twostage oil pump shown, oil enters the first stage at 1 and leaves the second stage at 9. Part of the oil is allowed to flow into the motor from the rotor 5 of the second stage through a slot 7 and returns to the diffuser 3 of the first stage through a slot 8.
