Abstract

513,420. Centrifugal fans. HANCOCK, L. J., and PAYNE, G. I. April 5, 1938, No. 10352.. [Class 110 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A compressor 1, driven by an electric motor 3 is provided with a fan having curved blades 16, which draws air through the motor casing for cooling purposes, and discharges the air through outlets 10 on to the casing 5 of the compressor. The blades are secured between discs 15, 17. The compressor may be of a reciprocating or a rotary type. In the former. case, the heads 19 may be finned. The fan rotor may be located within the motor casing which is provided with involutely curved walls.
