Abstract
519,630. Centrifugal fans. WHITAKER, A., and BARNES, N. Sept. 22, 1938, No. 27648. [Class 110 (i)] The discharge of the impeller is divided peripherally and passes to several overlapping volutes which lead to a common outlet passage. The part 14b, Fig. 2, of the first volute 14 curls out of the plane of the impeller and becomes the passage 16. A second volute is shown at 15. Both are extended laterally to keep the outside dimensions small. The volute 14 is open at 21 to the outlet 17 and the commencement of the second volute is open to the neighbouring part of the first volute.
