Connecting uppers to insoles and soles.-In a method of making rubber-soled shoes, the unshaped material of the sole b is pressed against the inturned edges a<1> of the upper a, embedding the edges in the sole with simultaneous moulding and vulcanization of the latter. The upper on its last is held in a suitable press and its edges, which may be perforated, are turned in. Unvulcanized rubber or rubber waste or scrap is then arranged over the edges and compressed with heat. An inner sole may, if desired, be incorporated in the shoe.
