[Classes 70 and 87 (ii)] [Also in Group VII] The adjacent edges of a rubber sole and of a rubber binding or trimming around the sole and lower part of the upper of a shoe are separated by a small gap. This enables differently coloured rubbers to be employed for the sole and binding, one part being prevented from spreading into the other during moulding and vulcanization. This may be done by providing projections 4 on the two portions 1, 2 of a vulcanizing mould situated so as to come between the edges of the sole 10 and the binding 9 of a shoe on a last 5.
