428,576. Attaching rubber soles and heels. KLIJBERG, B. E. J., 27, Broekboom, Lichtenvoorde, Holland. Sept. 4, 1934, No. 25466. Convention date, Sept. 5, 1933. [Classes 17 (ii) and 17 (iii)] One or more rubber strips 9 are inserted in grooves which may be of dovetail formation around the periphery of an insole or intermediate sole 6 or a heel of leather or wood for the purpose of improving the connection between a rubber sole 10 or heel and the shoe 1. The rubber sole 10 is attached by cement to the inset strips 9 and also to the sole or heel 6 and it may be stretched in applying it, as also may be the rubber strips when inserting them in the grooves. The outer edge of the rubber sole may also be secured by stitching.
