[Class 70] [See also Groups VII, VIII, and X] A process for making sheets, e.g. for boot soles, which are adapted for attachment to surfaces by adhesive means and are provided on the adhesive side with a layer b, Fig. 1, of fibrous material and then vulcanized is characterized in that immediately after the vulcanization, unvulcanized rubber latex c is applied to the fibrous material, which latex penetrates into the fibrous material and renders the sheet suitable for sticking on without roughening and treatment with rubber solution. In use the surface, e.g. the sole of a leather boot, is roughened and treated with rubber solution and the sheet is pressed on the surface, the latex face being in contact with the treated surface.
