Casings.-The casing of a centrifugal pump is closed by a member i including part of the side plates and the circumferential wall. The dividing line of the plate b, Fig. 1, on the suction side does not reach the flange d of the suction pipe, and the plate g, Fig. 2, on the other side is divided on the lines f which reach to the shaft. The removal of the portion i permits the removal of the shaft and impeller. Swing bolts k or clamps may be used to hold the closing part in position.
