Abstract

223,335. Sharrocks, J. July 30, 1923. Stopping pipes.- A stop for pipes comprises a collar 1 adapted to be clamped to the pipe behind the socket or flange and a cast metal stop plate 11 with an internally projecting flange 13 to fit the pipe socket or pipe end and with slotted lugs 12 to receive the clamping-bolts 7 pivoted to corresponding lugs on the collar. A packing-ring 16 formed of metal surrounded by hemp is placed between the stopper and the end of the pipe. Holes for drainage and vent are provided in the stop plate and closed by plugs.
