Abstract

195,324. Melville, A. Aug. 22, 1922. Moulding pipes and tubes.-A connector for branch pipes is incorporated in a spun concrete pipe during the spinning operation, and comprises a metal socket member I with an external flange 5 having perforations through which the concrete passes during the spinning operation. The connector is held in the mould by a bolt screwed through the wall of the mould into a removable plug 3 screwed or spigoted into the socket member 1. The plug 3 is prevented from projecting beyond the wall 2 of the pipe by a shoulder 3, and is removed by a key engaging the recessed end 4.
