Abstract
244,044. Prost, A¯nÚ, Les Fils de. Dec. 2, 1924, [Convention date]. Junction pipes; tapered spigot-and-socket joints; with valves.- In a pipe coupling valve arrangement of the kind comprising a ball or like valve such as 3, Fig. 1 opened against a spring 4 by the conical end or nozzle 6 of a pipe when coupled up, and secured by a coupling union nut 7, the movable nozzle 6 is provided with a connecting-head arranged to supply a plurality of pipes 15. The remote ends of such pipes may each be fittted with a ball valve actuated by coupling means. The end 9 of the nozzle 6 is serrated, and an embedded ring 11 shrunk on the nozzle 6 retains the union nut 7. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement in which the valve casing is in two parts 30, 31 screwed together with an intermediate pusher member 32 guided in two parts and having a rib 34 moving in a recess between the parts. The conical recess 5 is adapted to receive the conical nozzle 6.
