Abstract

243,494. Chandler, E. F. Oct. 15, 1924. Luggage-carriers; seat attachments.-A spring carrier for motor-cycles comprises an upper rectangular frame 6, to support a pillion rider or luggage, and provided with four depending stems 8 engaging guide sockets 2 on a lower frame rigidly secured to the cycle frame, compression springs 10 and rebound springs 11 being arranged on either side of collars 9 on the lower ends of the stems 8. The sockets 2 are connected together in pairs at the top by transverse tubes passing across the top of the mud-guard, and are mounted upon two triangular side frames 1, the lower ends of which are mounted on the rear axle, the two front sockets 2 being mounted on the plugged upper ends of the vertical members of the frames 1.
