Abstract

348,751. Motor cycle spring frames. KIRK, E. J., 61, Main Street, Carlton, Nottinghamshire. March 6, 1930, No. 7289. [Class 136 (iii).] The ends of the rear wheel axle a are mounted in adjustment slots in the front ends of two double links c, the rear ends of which are pivoted in adjustable bearings d at the junction of the upper and lower rear frame tubes f, g, the rear of the frame being cross-braced by a tube x extending around the rear of the wheel from one junction lug to the other. The motion of the links is controlled by two laminated springs h, which are connected to the links c by two double shackle links i and are secured at their front ends beneath the frame tubes g. Distance pieces are mounted on the axle a between the two members of each double link c.
