Abstract
372,144. Mudguards. GREEN, T. L., 46, Bromsgrove Street, and OSBORNE, W. H., 119, Leopold Street, both in Birming- ham. June 29, 1931, No. 18699. [Class 136 (i).] Mudguards for motor vehicle steering road wheels, of the type adapted to turn with the wheels during steering movements, are resiliently supported by one or, more springs or other resilient devices carried by an attachment part connected to the brake drum anchor plate or other part which turns with the steering wheel. The mudguard 1 is strengthened by stays 6, 7, 8, which extend down one side and are rigidly connected to a vertical bar 9, which is connected by two pairs of parallel-motion links 22, 23 to a vertical bar 17 rigidly secured to an attachment plate 3 bolted to the inner anchor-plate 2 of the brake drum, the motion of the links being controlled by one or more springs 24. The pivot bolts 15, 16, 20, 21 of the links pass through sleeves on the upper and lower ends of the bars 9, 17.
