Abstract

888,258. Road vehicle undercarriages. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. April 28, 1960, No. 14887/60. Class 108(2). An industrial truck has an axle 14 with a wheel 12 mounted for rotation at each of its ends, an axle support 17, means 18 for mounting the axle on the support for pivoting movement on an axis longitudinally of the truck, parallelogram links 24, 25 mounting the support 17 for vertical movement relatively to the truck, and yielding means 38 opposing the vertical movement of the support. The wheel mountings 15 are connected by a tie member for steering while the angular movement of the axle 14 is limited by stops 22. A shock absorber 43 is provided and downward movement of the links 24, 25 is limited by the engagement of nuts 42 with brackets 39 on the truck frame 36. Specification 772,717 is referred to.
