Abstract

242,862. Bagnulo, A. March 25, 1925. Water-tube boilers.-The water-tube elements of a quick steaming boiler are constructed in the form of helical coils, or otherwise, so as to provide a number of parallel combustion spaces each of which is heated by a burner placed at one end, the turns of each coil &c. being connected to one another through auxiliary collectors communicating with main collectors feeding the water and discharging water and steam respectively. The water-tube elements of a marine boiler comprise helical tubes 1 providing combustion spaces each turn of the coils being connected by small tubes 1<1> to two collecting pipes 3, 4 communicating with a drum 5 having a dome 6. In each combustion space which may have a fire-proof liner is arranged a naphtha burner 2 with preferably a spraying cone 7. Superheaters are arranged adjacent the drum and the whole in enclosed in a casing. Figs 10 and 11 show other forms of water-tube elements providing the parallel combustion spaces.
