Abstract
242,312. Roth, E. Nov. 1, 1924, [Convention date]. Mills and apparatus. - In disintegrating- apparatus with two oppositely-rotating hollow conical casing parts in which the material passes out through a slot provided in the periphery of the apparatus, radial ribs are provided on the inner sides of the casing parts and are of such a depth that compartments are formed between the ribs in which the material is securely held and guided towards the periphery, the reduction of the material being effected solely by the portions of the material which project beyond the ribs of one casing part being carried past and rubbing against the portions of the material projecting beyond the ribs of the other casing part. As shown, the conical casing parts a<1>, a<2> provided on the inside with radially-extending ribs b<1>, b<2> are connected by coupling-members f<1>, f<2> to the hollow shafts d<1>, d<2> which are mounted in bearings h<1>, i<1>, h<2>, i<2> and rotated in opposite directions by belt pulleys g<1>, g<2>. The material is fed by means of worm conveyers in the hollow shafts d<1>, d<2>, and passes out through a peripheral slot s which is formed by two rings c<1>, c<2> removably fitted into the casing parts a<1>, a<2>.
