Emulsions, making.-A high-speed film mill for the, emulsification of liquids and' semi-liquids, or for the fine-grinding of solids by means of dispersors, has two flat renewable grinding &c. rings with concentric teeth of triangular crosssection and plain slots E of uniform width extending from the inner to the outer periphery of each ring, the slots in one ring extending in the opposite direction to the slots in the other ring. The rings may be arranged either vertically or horizontally. As shown, the stationary ring B is fixed to the body of the mill C, and the rotating ring A is carried by a disc D mounted on an horizontal shaft and can be adjusted towards or from the ring B by means of a device J. The material is fed by a mouthpiece F into the central chamber G, and after passing between the toothed rings A, B escapes by an outlet H. The mill is provided with a heating or cooling jacket
