Mills and apparatus.-Apparatus for grinding oats, corn, &c. comprises two circular toothed or notched cutters disposed concentrically and adapted to be rotated one in regard to the other within an enclosing casing. The drum or wheel g mounted upon a rapidly-revolving shaft f carries upon its periphery a circular cutter i of chilled iron having a series of projections or teeth i<1>. The casing a carries a chilled-iron ring j formed with teeth j<1>, and has a removable side b secured by bolts c. The cutters are secured by keys or projections o or by bolts, and, when the edges of the teeth have become worn, the rings are reversed in position so as to bring the opposite edges of the teeth into use. The material is fed from a hopper k through an opening l in the circular wall of the casing, and, after being ground, is discharged through an outlet m into a spout n.
