240,307. Vogtlandische Maschinenfabrik (vorm. J. C. & H. Dietrich) Akt.-Ges., and Tiegland, P. Oct. 23, 1924. Four-stroke-cycle engines.-Air is drawn into the cylinder on the suction stroke, and a rich mixture formed by compressing air through the carburettor is introduced on the compression stroke. To reduce risk of pre-ignition, the mixture may be cooled before entering the cylinder. Regulation may be effected by throttling the fuel supply, or the mixture, or the air suction pipe.
