Abstract

239,144. Anderson, W. J. May 14, 1925. Fire-bridges; deflectors.-An air-chamber B, open at the bottom and having perforated firebricks D at the top, is fixed behind the fire-bridge A to supply air for consuming smoke and a flat plate H supported by frames E reaches from the air-chambers B to near the back end of the boiler to keep the hot gases at the top of the fire-tube. Air is also supplied through perforations N in the plate H, and the plate may be made in sections for fitting to different sizes of boilers, each section being supported on set-screws G which are adjusted so that the sides of the sections touch the fire-tube. A plate I shaped to fit the fire-tube prevents the escape of air into the flue.
